In the occasion of the incoming 59th World Ploughing Contest, President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipović, received a delegation of the Croatian Association for the Organization of Ploughing Contests (HUONO) on 27th September 2011. Reception has taken place after 9th Ploughing Contest of the Republic of Croatia, where representatives who will participate at the 59th World Contest became known. 

Bearing in mind that, ploughing is the primary tillage operation in agricultural production, the long history of World Championships and Croatian membership in the World Ploughing Organization, the delegation presented the importance of this event as an opportunity to present Croatia as a agricultural, but also as a tourist country.

Regarding that the Contest will be held from 14th to 15th September 2012. in Biograd, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development and HUONO, the Delegation has, by the Program of the Government, presented the preparatory activities and organization around the Contest. They stressed out that it is expected the arrival of, so far, the greatest number of representatives, from over 30 countries worldwide, and a large number of visitors.

President Josipović expressed great credit and honor by acceptance of the proposed patronage for 59th World Ploughing Contest and we hope that he will be able to respond on the invitation to the opening ceremony of this global event.
